Until next October 2nd, Segovia becomes the meeting point of the animation industry with a <a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/agenda-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">large program<\/a> where there is room for screenings, presentations, round tables, professional meetings and a recruitment day where 13 leading companies will seek to recruit the talents of the future. An edition that returns to its essence one hundred percent on-site, &#8220;it was a great logistical challenge, but at the same time necessary for the industry to come together again and build synergies, projects or ideas, which is the essence of Weird Market&#8221;, says Jos\u00e9 Luis Farias, its director.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The market agenda takes off this Thursday, September 30th with a \u2018recruitment\u2019 session. A total of 13 international companies bring together their talent recruiters to find new professionals for their work teams. El Ranchito, \u00c1nima, Skydance, Wise Blue, Mago Production, Orca Studios, Hampa Studio, Arcadia Motion Pictures, 3 Doubles, Everguild, Nu Boyana FX, Verjim and The Glow will be the stars of this day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La C\u00e1rcel_Segovia Centro de Creaci\u00f3n (the new headquarters of the event) will also host this Thursday the screening of the 10 short films of the 3D Wire Fest national competition. Outstanding names such as the three-time Goya Award winner Alberto V\u00e1zquez or Sam Ort\u00ed, will come to present their new short films. A selection that includes various co-productions with Argentina, Portugal and France, debut operas and some of the leading titles of the last Quirino Awards. Of the works in the competition, it is worth highlighting the premiere of <em>Leopoldo el del bar <\/em>by Diego Porral, winner of the 3D Wire 2019 Movistar+ Short Film Project Award.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Friday, October 1st, the round tables and presentations will start such as the one linked to Bitsommar 2021, a new initiative that combines video games in a rural environment. Next Lab will also have its space, another appointment at the forefront where the aim is to provide creators with more power and control over creation through the VR environment or video game rendering engines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the names of proven international weight that will arrive in Segovia are Jos\u00e9 Luis Ucha (director) and Graham Gallagher (animation director and head of character) or Carlos Zaragoza (production designer) and Aurora Jim\u00e9nez (visual development artist); The first two will present the entire process of creation of <strong><em>My Little Pony: A New Generation<\/em><\/strong>, the great animation bet based on the famous toys that arrives on Netflix on September 23rd. A catalog that in this edition incorporates a total of 200 titles: 19 feature films, 34 short films, 31 animation series, 36 video games, 28 web series, 17 transmedia projects, 20 comic books and 15 board games.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">AWARDS, VIDEO GAMES AND LOCAL TALENT<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winners of this 13th edition will be announced on Saturday, October 2nd, a day in which the winner of the Goya and the Special Prize of the jury in San Sebasti\u00e1n, Pablo Berger, will also be the protagonist; the Basque filmmaker will give more details on his first entrance into animation: the film <em>Robot Dreams<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The talent linked to the animation sector resident in Castilla y Le\u00f3n is another of the central axes since the origin of the Weird Market. Companies in the region will analyze the reality of the territory; how projects and professionals can use teleworking to generate a network that serves as an incentive to face the \u2018emptied Spain\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The interconnection between board games and video games will be discussed by Isabel Tallos in &#8220;Encapsulating the Warhammer 40,000 universe in a deck of cards&#8221;. The co-founder of Everguild (an ambitious video game studio that operates from the United Kingdom and Spain) will address the challenges and the learning of this process to maintain the original essence through the interface, mechanics and gameplay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Women in the Spanish video game industry and the challenge of getting a project off the ground individually within a company will be presented by Violeta Moldes. Moldes started working for Chibig in March 2021 and this summer she has presented the game <em>Stories of Mara <\/em>through a one-woman department; she will be the protagonist of \u2018Start in the Spanish video game industry well\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To end, the appointment has the gif contest up and running. A proposal for all types of creators who can send their proposals until October 6th, always with emblematic places of the city of Segovia as a reference. Original pieces that must make use of backgrounds provided by Turismo de Segovia.
