The best works in three technical categories will also be recognized: <strong>Visual Development, Animation Design and Sound Design <\/strong>and<strong> Original Music<\/strong>. The works presented in the main categories will automatically compete in the technical competitive categories. Registration must be done through the <a href=\"https:\/\/filmmakers.festhome.com\/en\/festival\/premios-quirino\">Festhome platform<\/a> before December 20th, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. (Spanish time), as indicated in the regulations that can be <a href=\"https:\/\/premiosquirino.org\/en\/#participate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consulted in the following link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From among all the registered works, a Selection Committee will choose six nominees per category, which will be announced in February 2022. Subsequently, an international jury will choose three finalist works in each category and these will be the ones that aim \u200b\u200bfor the prizes to be given at the ceremony which will take place on May 14th next year in San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Mexican \u201c<strong>A costume for Nicholas<\/strong>\u201d by Eduardo Rivero was consecrated as Best Feature Film in the last edition of the Quirino Awards. With this goal, the organization of the event participated, during 2021, in the festivals and international meetings of <strong>Annecy<\/strong> (France), <strong>Pixelatl<\/strong> (Mexico), <strong>Animation! Ventana Sur<\/strong> (Argentina), <strong>ANIMAGE &#8211; Pernambuco International Animation Festival<\/strong> (Brazil), <strong>Anima Latina<\/strong> (Argentina), <strong>Shorts Mexico<\/strong> (Mexico) and <strong>Iberseries Platino Industria<\/strong> (Spain).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Quirino Awards are also part of <strong>La Liga de la Animaci\u00f3n Iberoamericana (The Ibero-American Animation League)<\/strong> together with Pixelatl and Animation! Ventana Sur, an alliance conceived to promote projects in the region internationally. The winning project of the third edition of La Liga was \u201cOlivia and the Shadows\u201d, by Chucho.tv (Uruguay) directed by Juan Carve, which was presented, with the support of this alliance, at the Quirino Awards, Annecy and Pixelatl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this September, and within the framework of Pixelatl, the group organized together with the Ibermedia Program, and with the support of ICAA, the round table &#8221; Challenges for the creation and distribution of children&#8217;s content in Ibero-America&#8221;, in which Yago Fandi\u00f1o, Director of Children&#8217;s Content of RTVE (Spain); Bernardita Ojeda, Founder and Creative Director of P\u00e1jaro (Chile) and Juan Carve, Founder and Director of Chucho.tv (Uruguay) participated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This panel will have a second part, again organized by Ibermedia and with the support of ICAA, in the next edition of Animation! Ventana Sur (November 29th &#8211; December 3rd), and will have the participation of Cielo Salviolo, Director of Pakapaka (Argentina), Alvaro Ceppi, Director and Producer of Zumbastico Studios (Chile) and Guillermo Velasco, Founder and Executive Producer of Big Bang Box (Spain).<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">About the Quirino Awards<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The awards were named in honor of the creator of the first animated feature film in history, the Italian-Argentine Quirino Cristiani, who in 1917 directed \u201cEl Ap\u00f3stol\u201d. It is an Argentine production in which 58,000 drawings made by hand and shot in 35 mm were used, in addition to several models representing public buildings and the streets of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last edition the awards had the main sponsorship of the Tenerife Council through Turismo de Tenerife and the Tenerife Film Commission; the sponsorship of the Council of San Cristobal de La Laguna, ICEX Spain Exports and Investments, Canary Institute of Cultural Development, Canary Islands Film and PROEXCA, with cooperation from ICAA, the Ibermedia Program, RTVE, Tangram Solutions, HP, WELAW, Retina Latina, Filmin, Casa de America and Culturamania; and with the support of DIBOOS, SAVE, Pixelatl, Ventana Sur Animation!, Weird Market, La Liga de la Animaci\u00f3n Iberoamericana, La Mesta, Pantalla, the Canarias Audiovisual Cluster and Annecy Festival, as well as the associations APA (Association of
