In the cinematographic section, the Spanish-Brazilian work <em>Flesh<\/em> and the Korean <em>Mascot<\/em> have won the highest distinctions from the jury in the national and international sections; while the Icelandic <em>Yes-People<\/em> received the Best European Short Film Award. For its part, the audience has chosen the Portuguese <em>The Peculiar Crime of Oddball Mr Jay<\/em> and the Spanish <em>Roberto<\/em> as the most outstanding films of their respective sections (International and National, respectively). With regard to the call for projects, it should be noted that <em>He Ran Towards his Comrade<\/em> has won the Movistar+ Short Film Project Award, while <em>Gylt<\/em> has won the RTVE Award for the most innovative video game; <em>Relicta<\/em> has won the version for VR projects of this latest award. The list of winners adds a new distinction in 2020, the RTVE Video Game Weird Plus Award, which was given to <em>Alt254<\/em> in its first edition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 3D Wire Fest <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/jury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">jury<\/a><\/strong> made up of the French producer Edwina Liard (founder of the IKKI Films production company), the Franco-Colombian Melissa Vega (director of international sales of the distribution and production company Dandelooo), the Brazilian Paula Taborda dos Guaranys (director of original content, co-productions and Acquisitions of Planeta Junior) and the Spanish Jorge Sanz (Director of the Aguilar de Campoo International Short Film Festival) have given the award for Best National Short Film to Camila Kater&#8217;s <strong><em>Flesh<\/em><\/strong>, a new recognition that joins those obtained in such outstanding events as Locarno, Annecy, M\u00e1laga or Huesca; in this same section they have also wanted to make a special mention for <strong><em>Mad in Xpain<\/em><\/strong> by Coke Riob\u00f3o. The South Korean short film <strong><em>Mascot<\/em><\/strong> by Leeha Kim and the Icelandic <strong><em>Yes-People<\/em><\/strong> by G\u00edsli Darri Halld\u00f3rsson have both obtained distinctions for the best international and European short film respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The voting of the audience attending the screenings at La C\u00e1rcel Segovia Centro de Creaci\u00f3n has crowned winners the Portuguese stop motion short film <strong><em>The Peculiar Crime of Oddball Mr Jay<\/em><\/strong> by Bruno Caetano (International) and <strong><em>Roberto<\/em><\/strong>, Carmen C\u00f3rdoba (National). In this 2020, a total of 203 were selected for the catalogue, of which nine make up its list of winners focused, in this section, on short film, series, web series and video game projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first of them has been the Movistar + Short Film Project Award for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/cortometraje-el-corrio-junto-a-su-camarada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>He Ran Towards his Comrade<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, by Gen\u00eds Rigol. The recognition is endowed with the acquisition of the emission rights of the awarded short by Movistar+ and with an amount of 9,000 euros for a period of 2 years (unlimited number of passes), being the first year exclusively for the aforementioned channel. In addition, the short film will be officially released in the 2021 or 2022 edition of this market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For its part, RTVE delivers three distinctions. The one aimed at the most innovative video game proposal that has been for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/videojuego-gylt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Gylt<\/em><\/a><\/strong> de Tequila Works; while the most innovative VR video game project is for Mighty Polygon&#8217;s <strong><em>Relicta<\/em><\/strong>. Finally, a new award has been created called the RTVE Video Game Weird Plus Award, for the videogame that breaks the mould in, the weird one, which has been in this first edition for <strong><em>Alt254<\/em><\/strong> by Rename Studio. All of them now have the possibility of being presented to the Directorate of Interactives of RTVE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the new talent section, the best young series project creator is for the Spanish <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/serie-welcome-to-fucking-rainbowland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Welcome to Fucking Rainbowland<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, by Nu\u00f1o Benito and Nacho Subirats, with this they receive a free accreditation for the next edition of Annecy-MIFA (MIFA professional accreditation). Another recognized project is the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/serie-villa-fabula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Villa F\u00e1bula<\/em><\/a><\/strong> series, its author V\u00edctor Mar\u00edn thus gets a free place for the executive production course of animation short films, series and feature films from Media Training Consulting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding the call for online animation series projects with \u00c1tomo Network as the main collaborator, the \u00c1tomo Grand Prix for the best web series presented is the Argentine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/webserie-toque-de-quena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Toque de quena (gente rota)<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, by Gabriel Lucero.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other two recognitions are the Robot At\u00f3mico Award for the Mexican <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/webserie-mi-p-familia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>F#%@ My Family<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, by Ricardo Abraham (R\u00ede Animation), and the \u00c1tomo Network Award for the French <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/weirdmarket.es\/en\/webserie-lamour-a-ses-reseaux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Fail in Love<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, by C\u00e9cile Rousset, Romain Blanc-Tailleur and Adrienne Nowak (Darjeeling Productions).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Weird Market thus closes with its winners, an edition that has combined the in-person part with the virtual one in a &#8220;hybrid&#8221; format; managing to maintain its commitment to the sector and the audience, both physically and online. \u201cIt has been a sign of strength and commitment by and for the content creation and IP sector. The response from the audience has been very good both in theaters and in the presentations and talks through the internet, the event has been followed from all corners of the planet.
