CODE OF CONDUCT
We strongly believe in the diversity and inclusion of all communities. WEIRD MARKET is open to anyone who agrees with these values and who contributes to promoting a healthy community.
This code of conduct tries to contribute to generating a safe environment during everything that surrounds the event (calls, talks, screenings, etc.), without distinguishing between:
- Race/Ethnicity
- Gender
- Background
- Sexual orientation
- Idiom
- Age
- Socio-economic status
- Religious beliefs
- Origin
- Maritial status
- And any other kind of diversity
All participants (as well as staff, sponsors and speakers), must respect this code of conduct. We ask all people involved in Weird Market to be first and foremost respectful of others.
The following behaviors/attitudes will not be accepted and can be reported immediately.
- Violence or threat of violence
- Personal attacks (both physical and verbal)
- Demeaning verbal attacks
- Deliberate intimidation, harassment or persecution
- Dissemination of sexual images, and/or jokes and/or sexual comments
- Inappropriate physical contact and/or unwanted sexual attention
Any of the behaviors described above will not be tolerated by Weird Market and may, depending on the severity of the behavior, lead to immediate dismissal from the event with no refund. We expect that in cases where participants are asked to stop any abusive behavior, they will comply immediately.
Sponsors are also subject to the same abuse policy.
If a participant engages in abusive behavior, the organization may take any action it deems appropriate, including warnings or expulsion from the conference without refund.
If you are experiencing abuse, notice someone else being abused, or have any other concerns, please contact a Weird Market member immediately. Weird Market staff can be easily identified and will be more than willing to help participants contact local authorities, provide escorts or otherwise assist anyone experiencing abuse. We value your assistance and your physical and mental integrity.
We hope that the participants follow these rules in the development of the event.
