Bárbara Cerro
Bárbara Cerro is an audiovisual creator from Buenos Aires. She graduated in Image and Sound Design from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and also studied Documentary Production alongside various multimedia design courses. She has directed animations that have won international awards and been screened at festivals such as Berlinale, Annecy, Mar del Plata, Sitges, FICX Gijón and the Ottawa International Animation Festival. She has been a jury member and guest speaker at numerous events such as GLAS Animation and Ventana Sur. She has received multiple awards throughout her career, including the Martín Fierro Digital Award for Best Series, Best Short Film at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, and the National Arts Fund Award for Best Web Series. Her projects have been supported by Argentine cultural institutions such as INCAA, the National Arts Fund, the Metropolitan Fund, and the Mecenazgo programme. She is the founder and director of the BITBANG International Animation Festival (an Oscar® qualifying festival) in Buenos Aires since 2015.
